Minister of Environment Dr. Jeanne d’ Arc Mujawamariya and her guest , IUCN Regional Director in Eastern and Southern Africa region, Luther Anukur, today held a bilateral meeting.
This meeting has also featured MoE Permanent Secretary Fatina Mukarubibi, RWFA DG Prime Ngabonziza and IUCN Country representative Charles Karangwa where the discussions focused on expanding bilateral relations and key projects related to supporting capacity building and implementation in forest landscape restoration.
“Supporting you is supporting us. We appreciate your contribution to the development of our forestry sector, among other things,” says Minister. Dr. Mujawamariya.
IUCN started working in Rwanda in March 2016 where it currently has different projects, in partnership with Ministry of Environment through the Rwanda Water and Forestry Authority, that support capacity building and implementation in forest landscape restoration.
“We collaborate in different activities including saving a number of degraded forests. To achieve more goals requires us to keep working together,” adds Anukur.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a membership Union composed of both government and civil society organizations.
